Welcome to Shades of Gold’s

Golden Retrievers.  We are a small hobby breeder of golden retrievers located in Carlsbad, CA (north San Diego county). We love these amazing dogs and have been actively showing and breeding them for over 20 years.  Our pups are raised in a loving home environment and are very well socialized! Many pups have gone on to be therapy dogs, service dogs and all have become loving members of families.  All parents have been OFA certified for hips, elbows, heart and eyes. Since we only have a few dogs, availability of puppies is infrequent. But feel free to contact us with questions or to be put on a wait list for our next litter. Our dogs are our pets first, but they also compete in the show ring.  Our first golden, CH Granhill's Grandslam Hitter "Buddy", won Best of Winners at the 2005 Western Regional Specialty!  He was a once in a lifetime dog and although he is now gone, his spirit lives on in his amazing puppies!
